One of our experienced estimators will visit your home to assess the volume and packing requirements of the household goods you are intending to take to New Zealand. After your pre-move survey we will automatically assign two of our friendly move coordinators who will control all aspects of your removal to New Zealand from start to finish. Your Move coordinators will be on hand to guide you through the process using their extensive knowledge and experience in international removals to New Zealand.

The export packing and loading of your possessions is probably the most important part of the whole International removal process, it is important that the removal company you choose will protect your fragile household items using the correct export grade of industry approved packing materials. It is also important that they have highly skilled and fully trained export packers. If you select our sole use container service we will deliver the container to your door, pack and load your container at your residence in your presence, seal the container and it will be shipped directly from your door to New Zealand. If you have selected our 'share a container' service, we will pack and measure your consignment at your residence and return this to our warehouse for loading in the next groupage container to your New Zealand destination. Shipping to New Zealand

When shipping to New Zealand the approximate shipping times are based on estimated dates announced by the shipping line operating the vessels. The estimated time of arrival for full containers is 6-8 weeks and 8-12 weeks for our share a container service to New Zealand. Once your shipping container has been loaded it is secured using a customs type seal and transported to the UK port ready for loading onto the vessel and shipment to New Zealand. When you arrive in New Zealand

We will contact you before your container arrives at the port in New Zealand, this is to ascertain your requirements regarding your delivery, if you are not ready to take delivery we can arrange storage at extremely preferential rates. We will also provide you with a New Zealand Customs form (NZCS 218) which you will need to complete in order to assist us in handling your customs clearance. All consignments arriving into New Zealand are subject to New Zealand Customs clearance & the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) inspection, this can sometimes take between 7 and 14 days to await clearance and deliver to your new home. MAF may decide to inspect some items contained in your shipment, but this does depend on the types of items you are importing into New Zealand. An inspection can on occasions be carried out at your residence on your delivery day or alternatively the MAF officer may stipulate that the inspection is carried out at our bonded warehouse. New Zealand Customs

Once your shipment arrives in New Zealand we will arrange for your personal effects or household effects to be customs cleared by New Zealand Customs. If your goods are arriving into New Zealand before you do, you can nominate a member of your family or a friend in New Zealand to act on your behalf. But in this scenario your nominee would be required to produce the following information to New Zealand Customs.

Letter of Authority, VISA (Photocopy), Passport (Photocopy for Proof of identity), Inventory, New Zealand Customs form NZCS 218.
If you are shipping a firearm, you must contact the New Zealand Police as firearms are strictly controlled and you must complete a Police import permit and licence before your firearm is permitted to be released into your care from New Zealand customs.  For further info- www.police.govt.nz/service/firearms/importing or contact us

All goods entering New Zealand are subject to Duty Tax & GST however, a personal or household effects shipment will qualify for free entry of Duty Tax & GST if your goods have:

• Been owned and used for 12 months or more by you.
• Be a first time migrant who is taking up permanent residency for the first time
• Returning New Zealand Citizen’s who have been living outside of New Zealand for 12 months or more.

New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF)
New Zealand has strictly enforced certain regulations regarding the importation of certain types of personal & household effects into New Zealand. This is to protect their agricultural industries from possible contamination by foreign pests and diseases brought in through the movement of personal and household effects to New Zealand. All consignments entering New Zealand are subject to an inspection by MAF/Quarantine; please ensure that all Garden Tools, Garden Furniture, Garden Toys and outdoor sports equipment have been cleaned before exporting them to New Zealand. A full list of items which are subject to inspection is contained in the PSS moving to New Zealand brochure, a free copy of which is available upon request.

If the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry wishes to inspect any items, the MAF officer will select items for examination and unfortunately any treatment or associated handling costs are payable by the owner of the goods in New Zealand. These charges can vary according to the number/nature/condition and cleanliness of the items examined. Purely as a guide the Quarantine Inspection charges range between NZ$ 100 to NZ$ 500 depending on the size of your shipment and the type of items being shipped.
Delivery & Unpacking in New Zealand
After clearance your goods will either be delivered inside your sea freight container or delivered in a separate vehicle depending on the type of your shipment and delivered to your residence. Our unloading crew will place your items in the rooms of your choice and unwrap and remove the packing material from your furniture.
